We’re offering Typeform data breach compensation advice and legal representation for victims of this recent breach.
We’re already acting for a number of people affected by the Typeform data breach whose information was exposed due to what Typeform admitted was third-party access to a server where information was downloaded without authority.
Many organisations use Tyepform, meaning the people affected vary in terms of the data being held about them and where they’re from.
About the Typeform data breach
We understand that the Typfrom data breach involved a third-party accessing a server and downloading information Typeform were holding. Typeform produce surveys and questionnaires for a number of organisations, including Apple, Airbnb, Fortnam and Mason (AKA the Queen’s Grocer) and Travelodge.
Tens of thousands are thought to be affected, with 23,000 customers of Fortnam and Mason said to be affected as a result of questionnaires and competition forms being outsourced to Typeform.
Information exposed in the Typfrom data breach
Information thought to have been exposed in the Typfrom data breach includes:
- Names;
- Addresses;
- Datesof birth;
- Contact telephone numbers;
- Email addresses;
- Social media handles.
It’s also understood that the breach may involve the data of voters as well.
This is all common data that can be exposed in a data breach issue, and it can be very dangerous in the wrong hands. As we often say, it only takes a little bit of data from a few different breaches for criminals to build a good enough profile about a person to commit fraud and identity theft.
There is no such thing as just a “small breach” in these kinds of cases irrespective of whether criminals are building a profile from several breaches, or using the information they steal from a single breach to try and do damage.
News of the breach came not long after the recent Ticketmaster data breach that we’re spearheading an action for. Both breaches are past the May 2018 GDPR deadline, so the sanctions that could be imposed against the offending companies could be huge.
In fact, they could be in the millions of pounds.
